Our Community Hub
The Crossroads Community Hub in Roebuck, Stevenage provides day services:
Currently open 3 days a week
- Wednesday and Friday 10am to 4pm
- Thursday 10am to 2pm
Opened in 1996 by then Stevenage MP Barbara Follett, the hub continues to provide care and support for up to eight clients a day. It is an example of best practice in dementia care, person-centred care, and carer support.
We always involve clients and carers in the planning and operation of the hub. Staff actively engage with clients to learn about their hobbies, pastimes, thoughts, and ideas, and plan activities accordingly.
Activities such as quizzes, dominoes, bingo, crafts, and reminiscence sessions keep minds active and stimulated, while providing valuable social interaction. Clients also sit down to enjoy lunch together, fostering a sense of community. Each client brings their own lunch, making it a relaxed and social part of the day.
In addition to activity-based care, we offer assistance with toileting and medication support, ensuring clients receive comprehensive care during their time at the hub.
Many of the activities we provide rely on fundraising so that we can provide treats and outings for the clients and their carers. To find out how you can help support the Respite Centre go to Support Us. For more information call us now on (01462) 455578 or click to Contact Us.
