Raising Funds for Local Care: Our Stevenage Day 2026 Highlights
On Sunday 14th June, we were delighted to be part of Stevenage Day 2026, the largest free community event in Hertfordshire, held at King George V Playing Fields.
Bringing together more than 30,000 people each year, the event is a celebration of local pride, community spirit and everything that makes Stevenage such a special place to live and work.
This year’s event was particularly meaningful as part of “Stevenage 80”, celebrating 80 years since the town was designated the UK’s first New Town - a milestone that reflects its rich history and strong sense of community.
Team members Jo, Paige and Alison manning the tombola stall!
Our stall was busy throughout the day, with many visitors stopping by to say hello, learn more about what we do and take part in our popular prize‑for‑all tombola. With a wide range of stalls, live entertainment and activities for all ages, it was fantastic to be part of such a vibrant and well‑supported local event.
Thanks to your generosity, we’re pleased to share that we raised an incredible £230!
As a not‑for‑profit charity providing care services in Hertfordshire, every penny we raise goes straight back into delivering essential support to local families. This funding helps us continue our mission to provide reliable, compassionate and high‑quality care services to those who need it most, whether that’s older adults, disabled individuals or families requiring extra support to care for loved ones.
Supporting the Hertfordshire community
Alongside our Homecare and Carers Breaks services, our Stevenage Day Centre provides a welcoming, supportive environment where individuals can enjoy meaningful activities, social interaction and tailored care. It plays an important role in reducing isolation and supporting wellbeing, while also offering valuable respite for families and carers.
At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to promoting independence and dignity, supporting people to remain safely in their own homes and delivering person-centred care tailored to individual needs. We couldn’t be prouder of the dedicated team who make this possible every single day.
Stevenage Day truly showcases the strength and generosity of our local community and we’re so grateful to everyone who visited our stall and supported us on the day – it truly means so much.
Why our care services matter
Events like Stevenage Day are more than just a great day out – they are a powerful reminder of the importance of strong, connected communities. As demand for trusted home care services in Hertfordshire continues to grow, organisations like ours play a vital role in supporting people to live safely and independently at home.
From regular check‑ins to more comprehensive care, our services are flexible and responsive, ensuring individuals feel safe, comfortable and well supported. For many families, knowing that a trained professional is there to help provides invaluable peace of mind.
Staying safe and well during the summer heatwave
With warmer weather arriving, it’s natural for families to be concerned about how heat can affect older or vulnerable loved ones. Our team can help by providing regular visits and wellbeing checks, ensuring individuals stay properly hydrated, keep cool and comfortable, maintain their usual routines safely and receive friendly companionship and support.
These simple but essential interventions can make a significant difference to someone’s wellbeing during the summer months. Find out more here.
Out and about in the community
As well as Stevenage Day, our Engagement Team has been busy out in the community over the past fortnight, attending a bustling Carers in Herts event and a Stevenage community event at the Red Shed. These opportunities are invaluable for connecting with local people, raising awareness of our services and sharing how we can support families across Hertfordshire.
Help us raise vital funds
As a not‑for‑profit charity, we rely on fundraising, donations and community support to continue providing vital care services to those who need them most. Every contribution – big or small – helps us reach more families, deliver high‑quality care and keep essential support like our Homecare, Carers Breaks and Day Centre services running.
